Moana Costume, free pattern link

I made this for a 12 –18 month old (55cm waist and chest) so that is the size shown but I will show you where you can adjust it as I go though. This will not be a detailed pattern as its highly adjustable as long as you have the measurements of the child you are making it for then you can adjust it as needed. The most important item is the cotton used for the skirt it needs to have a nice weight or the finished skirt will just look fluffy. I used an ecru craft cotton in DK weight which worked perfectly., Included in the pattern is a link to a surface crochet tutorial but if you are not confident the same effect can be obtained by making a long chain and sewing it on. Easter chicks free pattern

I have only written a couple of patterns so please excuse any mistakes and if you find something I missed feel free to let me know. I looked for a quick pattern for Easter chicks but most I found had several parts and too much sewing for my liking so I made my own: these chicks are made entirely in one piece A great little project for this time of year and a way to use up those little bits of yarn leftover. Please feel free to link to the pattern but do not copy or give out Easter chick pattern: written in US terms EDIT ( thanks for pointing it out) I used DK (double knit) wool with an E/ 3.5mm hook Finished size for me is about 3.5" tall Join each row with a slip stitch Stitches used: CH - chain SC - single crochet HDC - half double crochet sc2tog - single crochet 2 together Start with either a magic circle or chain2 row 1 : 5 sc in magic circle (or 1st chain) row 2 : 2sc in each stitch around row 3 : *sc in next st 2sc in next* repeat to end row 4 : *

Caterbugs Free pattern

Caterbugs I created this pattern as a CAL for my crochet group on Facebook, Share and Care crochet . The pattern was written to be beginner friendly but also to show that patterns can be adapted with great results as you can see. For the second one i used different yarn and hook and added wings. For the baby i just missed out the top section to make the baby version. The pattern is fairly simple but must be followed exactly and you really need to use those magic stitch markers as its easy to lose a stitch Pattern: I use MR or Magic ring if you don’t know how to do this chain 2 and start in the first chain if you crochet over your tail you can pull any hole closed later. At each colour change fasten off with a slip stitch in the next stitch and crochet over your tails with the new colour also joined with a slip stitch. Stuff as you go, this will get more difficult if you go too far without stuffing. This project is minimal sewing on purpose but there are option
